Annual Duck Derby

Each year in August the Vermilion Port Authority hosts the Annual "Duck Derby Race" on the Vermilion River.  Proceeds from the race go towards the Water Tower restoration project.

Here is all you need to do to join the fun:

First, adopt a duck for $5 each or a

"quack pack" of 6 for $25. Then

show up at the Vermilion River

bridge or Red Clay landing and

watch as your duck is dumped into

the river and races towards the finish

line. The first place winner is

awarded $1000, Second Place is

awarded $500 and third is awarded, $250.

Fun, food and fetstivities starting at 6:30 pm at Red Clay landing.

Start time is at 6:30 pm on August 17.
