August 2 - Vermilion's own open air market. It’s a little of this and a lot of that…jewelry, antiques, crafts, art, nautical exhibits, collectibles, quilts, antique cars and more. Special guest speaker each year. Where Main Street meets Liberty Avenue in Vermilion's downtown historic Harbour Town.

Open Air Market At Victory Park
July - August - Main Street Vermilion presents the Vermilion Local Market at Victory Park, downtown, each Saturday July through August. This local market offers home-grown fruit, vegetables, herbs, flowers, meat, cheese and other goodies. Local artists also showcase and sell their work. The Local Market will be held on Saturday afternoon from 2 pm to 6 pm on July 5, 12, 19, 26 and August 2, 9, 16, 23, 30. For more information contact Sandy Kish Jordan at 967-6446.

Annual Mill Hollow Crusin' Car Show
Mid August - Come see thousands of muscle cars, hotrods, vintage and custom trucks, ‘vettes, vans and motorcycles, and more on Sunday from 11 am - 4 pm. This will be a car lovers heaven with thousands of cars 25 years or older on display. With ongoing entertainment, kids’ games, and door prizes, there will be something for everyone. Food and beverages will be available for a nominal fee. This is a walking event. End the day with live classics 50’s music at 6:30 pm in the Amphitheatre. Do you have a car 25 years or older (1982 and down)? Show it off at the Mill Hollow Cruisin’ Car Show! The first 300 participants receive a free dash plaque. Annual Duck Derby
August 17 - Thousands of Ducks race down the Vermilion River. Join the fun by sponsoring a duck for $5 each or a "quack pack" of 6 for $25. Then show up at the Vermilion River bridge or Red Clay on the River landing and watch as your duck is dumped into the river and races towards the finish line. The first place winner is awarded $1000, Second Place is awarded $500 and third is awarded $250. Fun, food and fetstivities starting at 6:30 pm at Red Clay landing. Start time is at 6:30 pm. Vermilion Triathlon & Duathon
August 17 - Sunday - Vermilion Ohio - From April through August, licensed amateur triathletes will compete in their state's designated USAT-sanctioned, sprint or international distance Qualifying Race. Male and female winners will be named Best of Their State and the right to compete at the designated Finals Championship Race. Ohio's 2008 State Qualifier will be Vermilion Harbour Triathlon on August 17 at Linwood Park in Vermilion for Intermediate Distance. The "Best of the US" Amateur Triathlete Competition brings nationwide attention to amateur racing and athletes; provides recognition to America's best amateurs and supports their continued excellence as citizen athletes; honors, encourages and supports continued training and racing by citizens of all abilities, by bringing attention to prominent amateurs; creates excitement, drama and motivation via inter-state rivalries; creates heroes by annually introducing to the public 100 highly accomplished triathletes in whom to invest emotionally; and creates an "accomplishment path" and for first and second tier amateurs, youth and juniors. The Championship Race is a highly publicized exhibition event featuring grand staging, a festival atmosphere, a Parade of States competitor entry, and individual recognition for each State Representative. Winners of the Championship Race will be named "Best of the U.S. Amateur Triathletes." The Top 10 Individuals and Top 5 Fastest State Teams receive awards, with unique, modern Waterford crystal awards to the top 3. Web Site >>

Citywide Tag Sales
June through August - Visit Vermilion the Second Saturday of each month for Citywide Tag Sales. Vermilion residents offer yards sales, merchants offer shopping bargains galore and area organizations raise funds for worthy causes with charitable tag sales from 9 am to 4 pm. Open-Air Market on Main Street in Victory Park 2 pm to 6 pm. A public auction follows at Millet Auction House. Don’t miss the sidewalk sales at participating merchants. July 18 through August 22 - Every Friday - Each year Vermilion celebrates the summer with free outdoor movies at beautiful Exchange Park on the Vermilion River. Located riverside at the corner of Main Street (State Route 60) and Liberty Avenue (State Route 6). Vermilion’s Movies In The Park features the best family-friendly flicks under the stars. Vermilion has become known throughout the region for its fabulous Third Thursday Music, Flowers & A Sunset concerts which take place May through September. Many of our local musicians provide music for your listening enjoyment in several different locations scattered throughout historic downtown Vermilion's Harbour Town. Worship By The Water
May - August - Worship by the Water begins Sunday, May 25th at Sherod Park and continues through August 31st. A contemporary Summer Worship service, held on the shores of Lake Erie. Sherod is located at the corner of Coen & West Lake Roads (Rt. 6) one mile west of Vermilion. Worship takes place from 9:00 am to 9:45 am. Family friendly, all ages welcome, open to all.
