The Christmas Tree Ship
December 6 - Go back in time to watch as the legendary Christmas Tree Ship enters the Vermilion harbor on at 11 am. Located on the shores of the Vermilion River in Exchange Park in Vermilion's historic Harbour Town. This is a nautical tradition from long ago when ships brought the Christmas the family Christmas tree. A reenactment of the 1887 fishing schooner will carry trees ashore available for purchase. Community bands, hot chocolate, holiday treats, lunch with Santa and more will provide fun for the entire family throughout the day. A special, celebrity guest each year. Santa Is In The House
December 6 through Christmas - Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in the Santa House at Exchange Park in Vermilion's historic Harbour Town each Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm. Bring the children for a wounderful alternative to mall Santas. Sponsored by the Friends of Harbour Town. Bring a camera for photos.

Tree Of Remembrance
December 6 - This beautiful and poignant Vermilion tradition, a memorial to loved ones, takes place at the Gazebo in Victory Park at 1 pm. Victory Park is located on Main Street in downtown Vermilion's historic Harbour Town. Celebrate the lives of those you have lost by bringing a weather-resistant holiday ornament for Vermilion's Tree Of Remembrance. Sponsored by Friends of Harbour Town and Riddle Funeral Home.

12 Shops Of Christmas
December 12 - 14 - Don't miss the 12 Shops of Christmas retail excursion. Retrieve your cards at local merchants, visit 12 shops, and turn in your card to enter your name for a chance to win fabulous prizes. No purchase necessary, simply have your card endorsed by 12 merchants. Completed cards can be turned into the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce or Main Street Vermilion in downtown Harbour Town.

Carolers In The Park
December 20 - Carolers will entertain with the sounds of the seasons at Exchange Park in downtown Vermilion at noon. Bring your family and friends to sing the sounds of the season. Music sheets and hot chocolate provided. A delightful, family fun, holiday experience organized by Main Street Vermilion.

Old Fashion Holiday
Mid December - Mill Hollow's Old Fashion Holiday at Vermilion River Reservation/Mill Hollow Metro Park. Step Back in Time for Christmas – 1864 Reenactor. A wonderful family learning experience. A wintry sight with the high shale cliffs and the low current of the Vermilion River. This was the site where the horses and covered wagons crossed the river to settle within the Firelands Area. Operation Twinkle
November through January - Operation Twinkles lights up Vermilion's holiday season with festive lights and animated decorations. Exchange Park, overlooking the Vermilion River in historic Harbour Town, will be decorated with a nostalgic collection of figures inspired by historic Christmas light decorations of the 1950's.
