2008 Beneteau First 36.7 Great Lakes Championships
June 6 - 8 - Vermilion Boat Club and Freeman Eckley Inc host the 2008 Beneteau First 36.7 Great Lakes Championships!  The First 36.7 is a 36' one design racer cruiser. We expect 30 to roll into the Vermilion river June 6,7, & 8 for three days of intense racing. Race committee and after race events will be based out of the Vermilion Boat Club, all are welcome to come down and see the action. Or if you have an interest in watching some of the on the water action, contact VBC (967-6634) as there will be spectator boats available. This is premier sailing event, right in the heart of Harbour Town!

River Walk Series: River Ecology Basics

We will be learning about GPS units, what makes them tick, and the history of geocaching. Following the presentation, we will break into groups to enjoy a Geocaching scavenger hunt around the park!

Citywide Tag Sales
June through August - Visit Vermilion the Second Saturday of each month for Citywide Tag Sales.  Vermilion residents offer yards sales, merchants offer shopping bargains galore and area organizations raise funds for worthy causes with charitable tag sales from 9 am to 4 pm.  Open-Air Market on Main Street in Victory Park 2 pm to 6 pm. A public auction follows at Millet Auction House.  Don’t miss the sidewalk sales at participating merchants. Festival Of The Fish
Father's Day Weekend - June 13 - 15 - Celebrate the sea with Vermilion's Festival of the Fish.  Lighted boat parade, games, food and special events. June 14 - Saturday - Takes off from the Inland Seas Maritime Museum, 408 Main Street, at 9 am and ends at Sherrod Park. New this year, the DOG WALK. Fire Deparment Social Club Offers Breakfasts, Steak Fry
June 14 - Vermilion Fire Department Social Club will offer a series of  Pancake Breakfast on April 27th, June 14th, September 21st from 8 am to 12:30 pm at Station 1, 5467 Ohio Street.  Breakfast includes Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Orange Juice, Milk, and Coffee. Worship By The Water
May - August - Worship by the Water begins Sunday, May 25th at Sherod Park and continues through August 31st. A contemporary Summer Worship service, held on the shores of Lake Erie. Sherod is located at the corner of Coen & West Lake Roads (Rt. 6) one mile west of Vermilion. Worship takes place from 9:00 am to 9:45 am. A Shocking Fish Program
June 27 - 3:30 pm -5  pm - Vermilion River Reservation - Carriage Barn.  Join our Program Naturalist and Oberlin College Biology professor Roger Laushman as we identify fish in the Vermilion River by using a special instrument nicknamed the “fish shocker”, causing the fish to float to the surface. A once in a lifetime opportunity to view all the fish the river has to offer! Bring water shoes.
