Arts Guild To Feature Quilt Show
March 3 - Opening March 3, 2008 the Arts Guild gallery will feature a quilt show as a part of the Featured Artist program The show is the work of the artists in the Sit and Stitch Quilt Guild. Fifteen members will exhibit a variety of products using quilting methods, a homespun type of art. There will be wall hangings, bed quilts and wearable quilts on display. The show will be open to the public on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 to 4:00 in the Main Street building at 685 Main Street. Learn To Make Sauces
March 6 - Thursday - 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Fine cooking consists of a variety of sauces, some simple and some complex. We will learn the five “mother sauces”: béchamel, veloute, brown sauce, hollandaise and mayonnaise group, and tomato-with the variations made from each one to create a wide variety of smaller sauces. Using three basic sauces we will make Beurre Blanc with fish, veloute for a simple Corn Chowder and Cream Chicken, Hollandaise Sauce for the classic Veal Oscar and Bearnaise Sauce for beef. Vermilion Community Fest
March 7 - Vermilion Community Fest takes place at Lake Erie Lanes on Friday March 7 from 6 pm to 11 pm. Fragassi Family Italian Celebration Of Food
March 10 - Monday - 6:30 pm to 9 pm - $55 - For the Fragassi Family, the feasting began on Palm Sunday and reached its finale with Easter dinner at Grandma's house. Join Carmella and her sisters as they cook, laugh, chop, and tell stories of food and their Italian heritage. We'll begin with their meatless Palm Sunday menu of three pastas with Tuna in Marinara, Ricotto Sauce and a Walnut Cream Sauce. Ohio Boating Education Course
March 29 - 9 am - 5 pm - All Ohio boaters are mandated by the state to have completed a certified boating course. Jack Justice, an Ohio certified instructor, will be teaching this full-day course (so please bring a lunch).
