Northcoast Tour De Stitch
October 10 - 19 - Attention needlearts enthusiasts! The NorthCoast Tour de Stitch is a unique "shop-hop" across Northern Ohio featuring the finest quality needlework shops. This northern Ohio shop-hop is in its 8th year. Trunk shows, gifts and drawings for gift baskets will be at each shop. Woollybear Festival
October 5 - FOX 8 Woollybear Sunday is the largest one-day family festival in Ohio. Featuring Ohio's longest parade, games, booths, a 5K run, Woollybear costumes and much, much more. Don’t miss Vermilion's biggest festival held in historic downtown Harbour Town. Parade steps off at 1:30 pm; booths close at 6 pm. Vermilion’s Woollybear Parade lasts approximately 2 hours featuring many radio and television personalities including Dick Goddard and the FOX8 News Team. World's Greatest Kid's Race
October 5 - Held during the FOX 8 Woollybear Festival. Registration begins at 8 am. Dick Goddard starts the race at Vermilion High School Stadium, 1250 Sanford Street, Vermilion, OH 44089, at 9 am. Community Prayer Breakfast
Late October - Held at German's Villa, 3330 Liberty Avenue, Vermilion, OH 44089. Call the Chamber of Commerce at (440) 967-4477 to make reservations. The Vermilion Ministerial Association and the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce host this semi-annual Community Prayer Breakfast. The program begins at 7:45 a.m. and concludes by 9 am. Speaker and special music. Tickets are $6 and are available at participating churches or the Chamber of Commerce office in downtown Vermilion. Haunted State Street School
Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays In October - What is that, listen to the eerie sounds of the Old Haunted School and a maze to where? Join the Old Haunted State Street Schoolyard ghostly cast of characters for an eerie alternative to everyday living on the shores of Lake Erie in Vermilion Ohio. The Annual Vermilion's Old Haunted State Street School is sure to frighten locals and visitors alike. Bring your friends and family to the exciting and horrifying experience! There's a new show each year and an indoor waiting area, concession stand, and video games. Times: Thursday 7 pm to 11 pm, Friday and Saturday 7 pm to 12 am. Annual Lecture Series
Fall - Every spring and fall, The Great Lakes Historical Society presents its Annual Lecture Series. Each series features six lectures on various aspects of the Great Lakes and their history. Lectures are always free and open to the public! Lectures typically begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings at the Inland Seas Maritime Museum in downtown Vermilion, Ohio.
