Great Black Backed Gull Watch
September 14 - Meet at the Main Street Observation Deck in Vermilion's historic Harbour Town at Lake Erie from 9 am to 12 pm for this annual event in the heart of the Wing Watch & Wine Trail. Come greet the Great Black Backed Gulls at Main Street Beach. Enroute from Labrador, the gulls stop in Vermilion for a brief visit each October. Bring your binoculars and cameras. The ErieMetro Park System will be sharing Gull news and their telescope with you. Children will enjoy their gull program on the beach. Woollybear Golf Outing
Mid September - The Woollybear Golf Outing is an annual fundraising event for the Woollybear Festival. It is held at Willow Creek Golf Course, 15905 Darrow Road, Vermilion OH 44089. Call the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce for tee-times and more information at (440) 967-4477.

Fire Deparment Social Club Offers Breakfasts, Steak Fry
September 21 - Vermilion Fire Department Social Club will offer a series of Pancake Breakfast on April 27th, June 14th, September 21st from 8 am to 12:30 pm at Station 1, 5467 Ohio Street. Breakfast includes Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Orange Juice, Milk, and Coffee. A Steak Fry will be held from 6 pm to 11:00 pm at AMVETS Post # 22 on Saturday, November 1st.

Haunted State Street School
Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays In October - What is that, listen to the eerie sounds of the Old Haunted School and a maze to where? Join the Old Haunted State Street Schoolyard ghostly cast of characters for an eerie alternative to everyday living on the shores of Lake Erie in Vermilion Ohio. The Annual Vermilion's Old Haunted State Street School is sure to frighten locals and visitors alike. Bring your friends and family to the exciting and horrifying experience! There's a new show each year and an indoor waiting area, concession stand, and video games. Times: Thursday 7 pm to 11 pm, Friday and Saturday 7 pm to 12 am. Many of our local musicians provide music for your listening enjoyment in several different locations scattered throughout historic downtown Vermilion's Harbour Town. Annual Lecture Series
Fall - Every spring and fall, The Great Lakes Historical Society presents its Annual Lecture Series. Each series features six lectures on various aspects of the Great Lakes and their history. Lectures are always free and open to the public! Lectures typically begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings at the Inland Seas Maritime Museum in downtown Vermilion, Ohio.
