Pitcher Earns National Honor

Oklahoma State pitcher Andrew Oliver has won another award for his performance last week against Nebraska as he has been named to the weekly “National All-Star Lineup” by the College Baseball Foundation and Diamond Sports.

Oliver tossed the first complete game of his career to lead OSU to a 1-0 win in its series opener against the sixth-ranked Cornhuskers last Friday. The sophomore southpaw from Vermilion, Ohio, allowed just three hits, all singles, and tied a career high with 10 strikeouts. He did not allow a walk in the contest.

Oliver was perfect through the first five innings, retiring the first 15 Cornhuskers in order before giving up a leadoff single in the sixth. He faced just two batters over the minimum in the game.

The complete game effort bested Oliver’s previous career-long outing of seven innings, which he had reached three times this season.

With the win, Oliver improved to 3-2 on the season and lowered his ERA to 2.50. He leads the Cowboys with 54 strikeouts in 54 innings of work.

The College Baseball Foundation releases its "National All-Star Lineup" each week, giving accolades to the past week's top performers. The "National All-Star Lineup" is nominated by college coaches, staff and baseball media contacts.
