Vermilion In Bloom is a volunteer organization dedicated to "Planting pride in our Community."  This beautification program has been building excitement in Vermilion by encouraging landscaping in commercial and residential areas.  Vermilion In Bloom volunteers plant and maintain flowers, plants and trees throughout the Vermilion area.  The organization also offers gardening workshops throughout the year to educate area residents and businesses on the art of landscape beautification.

Vermilion in Bloom 2008 Events & Activities

Vermilion In Bloom is beginning the 2008 season with fundraising & friendraising events.  The popular Vermilion In Bloom Ladies Nights will resume on Thursday, January 17th at Martino’s International Café between 7 pm & 9 pm.

Ladies are invited to support Vermilion In Bloom with a suggested donation of $10. You will learn about VIB summer plans, enjoy great conversation, hors d’oeuvres and a glass of wine or soft drink compliments of Lake Erie Electric, Inc.

VIB Ladies Nights will also be held at Rudy’s Bar & Grill on Wednesday, February 13th and on Thursday, March 6 at the Vermilion Country Club.  All are between 7 and 9 pm. A wonderful way to spend time with old friends and make new friends while supporting a great cause!

VIB is presenting a Professional Tree Pruning Workshop on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at the Ritter Library Annex. Everyone is asked to dress in warm layers for outdoor activity and bring the following pruning equipment: Hand Saw, Hand Pruner, Loper, Pole Loper and Safety Glasses.

This is an accredited seven step “hands-on” tree trimming program taught by Ohio’s Master State Arborist Alan Siewart. CEU Credits are available. The cost is $25.00 (which includes a box lunch.) To register call Dana Corogin at 967-5299.

Join Vermilion In Bloom for our Third Thursday celebrations -Music, Flowers & A Sunset. These concerts are free and open to everyone! Invite family, friends, neighbors and visitors to join you for a fun time. Then, head to the beach for one of our beautiful sunsets!

Mark the third Thursdays in 2007 on your calendar. Enjoy May through September for Vermilion In Bloom’s Third Thursdays.  It is a celebration of music, flowers and a sunset in beautiful Vermilion.
