Comprehensive Rehabilitation

Our Rehabilitation Team at Kingston of Vermilion is a dynamic group of therapists with combined experience of over 90 years.  We are dedicated to providing the most current physical, occupational and speech therapy techniques to deliver the highest quality of rehabilitation service individualized to meet the specific needs of each patient we serve.

At Kingston of Vermilion we provide both inpatient and outpatient services to the residents of Kingston and the surrounding communities.  We are family oriented and work with our patients, families and their physicians to promote the highest level of independent function both at Kingston and in the patients’ own home.

Physical Therapy

Our Physical Therapists work with our residents to restore function and to prevent disability following an illness or injury.  As a resident of Kingston of Vermilion you will be evaluated and begin receiving treatment within 24 hours of admission.

Our therapy department has been designed with a therapeutic pool to enhance your stay at the Kingston Care Center of Sylvania. Our therapy staff is trained to provide you or your loved one with aquatic therapy designed to increase your strength, range of motion and motor skills, and to aid you in your return to home or to reach your highest level of function. Feel free to talk to our therapy staff to see if aquatic therapy is appropriate for you or your loved one.

Inpatient Services

At Kingston of Vermilion we begin planning your discharge the day you’re admitted!  We work with you and your family in educating and training everyone for your return home.  We offer home evaluations and assist you with your return to the community.

For those residents wishing to make Kingston their permanent home, we offer on-going screenings to watch for decline in functions.

Outpatient Services

Outpatient Therapy services is also available at Kingston of Vermilion. You have the convenience of scheduled appointments and easy access to our Rehabilitation Center. You can be dropped off right at the front door and begin receiving your therapy within minutes. Your family can enjoy a cup of coffee while relaxing in our lounge or can join you for your therapy session.

Amenities

Upon entering Kingston of Vermilion, you will find two living rooms enhanced by a sunny view, cathedral ceilings and elegant furnishings including original artwork.

Resident Rooms

All of our resident rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished to preserve Kingston’s overall attractiveness and cheerful surroundings. Each private and semi-private room is complete with its own bathroom and individual heating and air conditioning. Residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms with knickknacks, pictures, and, if space allows, a favorite chair to make them feel more at home. Married couples entering the facility may request to share a room. There are several pleasant private lounges located throughout for reading, watching television, and relaxation. Our resident courtyard, complete with a three-tiered fountain, park benches, raised garden beds and a shaded arbor, is an enjoyable spot to relax and visit with family and friends.

Skilled Unit Rooms

Remodeled in 2002, this short-term rehabilitation unit includes freshly painted walls with nautical themes throughout.  Each skilled resident’s room has new furnishings, which include electric beds, over the bed vanity tables, furniture, chairs, draperies and bedding.  And for the convenience of our short-term rehabilitation patient, we have installed wall-mounted Television and VCR units as well as telephones in each room with service available the day of admission.  Each remodeled resident bathroom is handicap accessible and has been specially designed for our patients to utilize and promote self-independence.

Social Services

Enjoy the many community events this area is famous for, plus we are located just a short drive from premier medical services and the many cultural and sporting events that Lorain, Elyria, and Cleveland has to offer.

The residents of Kingston of Vermilion are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities designed to meet individual interests.  Exercise workouts, games, musical and educational programs, bowling, bingo, outings, theater and dinner events and wine and cheese parties are some of the many exciting events for our residents. The eight passenger van is available for shopping and sightseeing and to transport our residents for shopping or luncheon excursions, field trips, or to nearby community events.
